Ruby
Author, educator and somatic therapist, Ruby Gibson is the owner of Howling at the Moon Productions
located in the foothills of the Colorado Rockies. She serves her community as the co-founder and president of the
non-profit group Freedom Lodge, and is lead trainer for ONE Freedom's Family and Youth Programs, offering educational
workshops to the families of military service members and veterans for self-regulation of stress. For more information,

Ruby is an honorary member of the International Indigenous University Board of Directors and
collaborates with many Indigenous groups. A national educator for 25 years, Ruby is an instructor at Naropa
University's Extended Studies Program in Boulder, CO where she teaches a class she developed entitled, Somatic
Archaeology™. She is the author of My Body, My Earth: The Practice of Somatic Archaeology™ and
teaches certification

A seasoned humanitarian and a somatic therapist in private practice, she has worked with adults
and children for 25 years, specializing in compassionate recovery from trauma, abuse, injury, addictions and chronic
pain. A healer and medicine woman, she is a sacred pipe carrier and ceremonial leader of mixed descent, and has
studied and practiced a wide array of earth-based healing techniques for over 30 years.
Bear & Co published her novel, Home is the Heart, in 1989. It is the story of a woman's
spiritual recovery from cancer using natural methods along with Native American ceremony. As a poet and freelance
writer, she has written many articles for local and national magazines, produces Message Scent News, and has
co-written a screenplay entitled The Strange Story of Ahrinziman. Presently, she is working on her most recent
book, The Heartbeat of Mother Earth, a cross-cultural literary and photo presentation of 30 Indigenous Elders and
Spiritual Leaders from across the globe.
